Service Coordination – if referral to other programs and services sub goal is chosen, does the competency sub goal also have to be completed in order for the referral to count on the Detailed Service Quality Report?
The data source for Referred out –Registered in Employment Service is pulled from the “Status” field of plan items under the sub-goal “Referral to Other Programs and Services”. The service plan must be closed and have at least one competency. The plan item must have a status of “In progress” or “Completed”.
Why do so few learners on the provincial Detailed Service Quality Report (DSQR) have less than grade 12?

If learners have a competency type sub goal and are active they will show on the DSQR. What happens if that competency is either not completed or cancelled and the service provider then closes the service plan? Will that learner still show up as a learner served? Does the competency have to be completed and attained in order for it to be counted as a learner when closed?

Can you edit a closed service plan? If so, do the changes show up in your next DSQR? Can you only edit closed service plans during the month in which that plan was closed?
Once a service plan is closed, its main content cannot be edited. The only part of the service plan that can be updated after closure is the closure details information. In order to bring a service plan into “active” status in CaMS, the learner must accept the learner plan. If a participant identifies him or herself with English as their first language but prefers to receive service in French, will that be understood by the ministry or will that show the ministry that this French Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) service provider is serving English participants?
Consideration would be given to the fields that a learner selects on the LBS Participant Registration form, which is then entered into EOIS-CaMS. The ministry will read what is selected on the form as selected by the learner.
How is ‘training’ defined? How is this different from the definition of ‘education’?
The ministry expects service providers to use their professional judgement when determining if an activity is better defined as training or as education. How long can a client be on the Case Activity Report (Report 61)?
Learners are filtered into the report based on their service plan being in an open, approved or active status, or being closed in the fiscal year. Therefore, the longest they could be shown on the Case Activity Report is any given fiscal year where they had a service plan in open, approved or active status.
Can one learner have more than one active Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) service plan with the same site?
No. A learner can only have one active LBS service plan with one service provider. Clients may have concurrent service plans (open, approved or active) of different program types (i.e., a client could have active Employment Service (ES) and LBS service plans at once).
