The government of Ontario wishes to ensure that Employment Ontario has a clear, recognizable, and consistent brand identity in all its service delivery locations and that the identity is communicated through all its service delivery channels. The objectives of the Guidelines are:
- Clients should be able to easily identify an Employment Ontario location or delivery channel and be able to understand what services the brand
- Staff of Recipients should understand what the brand represents and have clear standards to follow on its use.
All public communications and marketing products to promote programs must recognize the contribution by the provincial and federal government by utilizing the three wordmarks (Canada, Employment Ontario, and Ontario Trillium). In situations where the use of the wordmarks is not feasible, the following acknowledgement line can be used:
- English: This Employment Ontario (project, program or service – choose one) is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
- French : Ce (projet, programme ou service – choisissez-en un) Emploi Ontario est financé en partie par the gouvernement du Canada et le gouvernement de l’Ontario.
The acknowledgement line is intended to acknowledge the contribution by the provincial and federal government in situations where the use of wordmarks is not feasible. The taglines are intended to create a positive, memorable phrase that helps clients identify the Employment Ontario brand. Recipients are encouraged to use taglines when developing their communication materials. This can be included as part of a headline, articles, footers, etc.
Signage is required for recipients that have the capacity to provide clients with information and referral services about all Employment Ontario programs, services and projects. This is required for recipients that deliver Canada-Ontario Job Grant, Employment Service, Literacy and Basic Skills, or Youth Job Connection/Youth Job Connection Summer.
Existing communication materials can continue to be used until the stocks are depleted. All new communications material, however, must conform to the revised Guidelines.
Yes, all service providers are expected to adhere to the revised Guidelines.
New Employment Ontario decals are now available on the Publications Ontario website. New Employment Ontario signs will be available in September.
Recipients are advised to start using the new wordmark on all new materials. Where the old wordmark was used, the new wordmark will take its place. The old wordmark will be phased out, not replaced. There is no set date for all changes to be implemented.
This means:
- Existing materials or signage may still have the old
- No new money should be spent to replace existing communication materials or signage. The wordmark should be updated when materials are being changed as part of regular business or existing stock of materials have been used.
- We will live in a mixed brand world for some
