Employment Ontario Data for Local Boards and Literacy and Basic Skills Regional Networks
What Is Happening?
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is providing local boards and Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) regional networks with aggregate Employment Ontario (EO) data for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The aggregate reports include activity data for the following programs:
- Apprenticeship (APPR)
- Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG) – Employer
- Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG) – Participant
- Employment Service (ES)
- Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS)
- Ontario Employment Assistance Services (OEAS)
- Better Jobs Ontario (BJO)
- Youth Job Connection (YJC)
- Youth Job Connection – Summer (YJC-S)
- Integrated Employment Services (IES)
The data is shared in three sets (as noted below); and may help local boards and regional networks to identify potential gaps or duplications in service within their catchment areas and provide insight into better engaging under-represented groups. It is not intended to assess the performance of the EO network:
- Local Boards
- Consolidated Municipal Service Managers (CMSM)
- Census Divisions
Who Is Affected?
Local Boards and Literacy and Basic Skills regional networks.
What Should Be Done Now?
The local boards will use these data reports to validate local workforce characteristics and client outcomes in the local area. Local boards and regional networks are expected to discuss this data with service providers for local planning purposes and collaborate on joint actions to address identified issues in the local area.
Local boards that fall within Service System Manager (SSM) catchment areas are expected to work with SSMs for labour market information sharing to address labour market issues within their catchments. Data for service providers that fall within all the SSM catchment areas are included in the reports.
The results of the EO data analysis and consultations will be captured in the local boards’ Local Labour Market Planning (LLMP) Report.
