Yes, the local ministry office will continue to receive the final class list from the Training Delivery Agent (TDA) and manually schedule OYAP participants with RTAs to the class in the EOIS-APPR.

Will Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) be able to complete/withdraw an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) participant’s OYAP program status in the EOIS-APPR, as the ministry local office staff sometimes do after OYAP participants leave high school and are continuing in apprenticeship?

If an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) participant is about to begin Level 1 in-class training and they do not have an active RTA what steps should be taken?

The OYAP Provider should follow the regular process to request an OYAP Training Agreement (TA) – see Process Guide – Registering Training Agreements for OYAP Participants and should notify Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) of the urgency by adding “Urgent” in the subject line in the email to STO.

If an employer is not approved as a sponsor in the EOIS-APPR who does the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) provider contact?

If an employer is not a current apprenticeship sponsor, advise the sponsor to register through the STO Portal and submit a Sponsor Registration Application. Ask the employer to notify you when approved.

Will Skilled Trades Ontario send Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) providers copies of the registered Training Agreements (TAs)?

No, STO will send copies of the registered TAs to participants with copies to the sponsors.

Who does the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) provider contact if they cannot locate a sponsor in EOIS-APPR?

If unable to locate the sponsor in the EOIS-APPR, contact Skilled Trades Ontario at OYAP@skilledtradesontario.ca to determine if the sponsor is approved to register apprentices in the trade.

Yes, the OYAP Participant Application Form has been revised as this is a ministry form. The section 2 Request for Registration has been removed and is now a separate form which will be provided by Skilled Trades Ontario.
